Fourth of July Fireworks
Greetings Thrill Seekers,
Here is the complete firework list from our newsletter. We have clients scattered over Arizona and beyond, so I am listing those events I know of in the valley.
Tempe Town Lake, gates open at 5 PM and admission is $5 and children 12 and under are free. This is a bring your own chair event but there are VIP tickets for $30 for children and $60 for Adults. I am not sure what is included in the VIP experience. But we have a "beer garden" again. Lots of activities and games will be here as well. More info is listed at http://tempe4th.com/
Mesa is billing their celebration as the "coolest" Independence Day Festival in the State. Quite a claim! They are having an historic flag presentation, live music, Revolutionary War re-enactment, art and culture showcases, a naturalization ceremony and a Military showcase as well. This is free and celebrating at the Mesa Convention Center Campus, beginning at 6 PM and running through 9:30 PM. Did I mention that this one is free? website https://tca.ticketforce.com/default.asp I am not sure what a culture showcase, looks like but if there is someone selling Fry Bread, you know where I will be.
Chandler is not to be out done either. Their Celebration is at Tumbleweed Park in Chandler, beginning at 4 PM with fireworks starting at 9 PM. Bring a blanket, sit on the grass and bring your own sunscreen. There will be music and live entertainment as well. Enjoy the park, bring your kites, bikes and trikes. Parking is $5 per vehicle, cash only, so PayPal is not an option. VIP tickets are again available for $10 for children and $20 for adults. http://www.chandleraz.gov/default.aspx?pageid=162 for their fine website.
In The Westgate Entertainment District, on July 3rd from 5 PM to 9:30 PM, there is a celebration with live music and other activities for the whole family, including an open Beer Garden (I wonder what they grow in a beer garden?) Fireworks starts again at 9 PM and admission is free. http://www.westgateaz.com/america/ is where you can find additional information.
Schnepf Farms, has their own Celebrate America, as well. Beginning at 4 PM with fireworks at around 8:30 PM. Admission is $20 per car. Unlimited ride wrist bands are $15 and VIP tickets $25 for children and $40 for adults. There are all kinds of things going on here. Miniature golf, a water play area, food trucks, and an outdoor Disney movie screening with free popcorn after the fireworks. http://www.schnepffarms.com/event/4th-of-july/
If you want to enjoy the Fireworks in comfort, you can watch from the Tempe Center for the Arts Center in an air-conditioned comfort with food and refreshments for $15 general admission while VIP admission is $25 but you get rood top viewing privileges. There are cocktails available while viewing and enjoying the evening. Evidently, the Center is not targeting the beer garden crowd. I am more the beer garden variety but I do like the concept of air conditioning on the Fourth. Buying tickets and additional info is list on their web site with other events going on at the center, https://tca.ticketforce.com/default.asp
The Phoenix Zoo gets into the picture as well celebrating the "Fourth of ZOOLY" with a barbecue, free carousel rides, special animal appearances, the ever-present inflatables and live entertainment. The event runs from 7 PM to 10 PM and tickets are $35 for Children, $45 for adults. This includes your gourmet Barbecue meal and events in the price. No mention of a beer garden here, but perhaps they are growing one at the Botanical Garden down the road. They are viewing the Tempe Town Lakes fireworks, not doing one of their own. Again more info on the event website https://tca.ticketforce.com/default.asp
Peoria has their All-American Festival at the Peoria Sports Complex with entertainment and family friendly activities including a FIVE story water slide, live music, eating contests and a Cornhole tournament. OK, I had to google "Cornhole" tournament, so don't be embarrassed if you are not familiar with this sport. I knew it as bean bag toss. There are official rules and regulations for this sport, see https://tca.ticketforce.com/default.asp for all the specifics. I am not sure whom Admission price is $7 in advance and $10 at the door. VIP tickets are available for $25. https://tca.ticketforce.com/default.asp It looks like beer is available here for purchase but it was not grown in a beer garden. (I had to add the word cornhole to my spell checker, the spell checker gods who determine what is listed had not included this fine word for whatever reason).
Cave Creek is having their Fireworks & Food Truck Extravaganza running from 5:30 PM to 10:30 PM at 6424 E Cave Creek Road. Gourmet Food trucks, not just regular food trucks, live music, water slides and a kid zone and Yes! they have a Beer Garden! Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children You can get a VIP table set up if you make a reservation. Veterans are free which I think is really great but you will need active military ID. Food trucks are great. It is like the food Court at the Mall but the food is better and there is more variety. I hope that guy who deep fries everything is there. He has deep fried frog legs to my personal favorite deep-fried Reese Peanut Butter Cups. There appears to be no limit to what you can bread and deep fry. I have been praying that the Department of Agriculture and Homeland Security does not find out about this guy, as his nutritional information is off the charts, (they and 14 other Federal agencies have jurisdiction over what we eat). This guy has been banned from Berkley and New York City.
The "Fabulous Phoenix Fourth" is at Steele Park hosting one of the largest fireworks shows in the Southwest. They have everything here, with the kid zone, live music games, food and the ubiquitous inflatables. The Fabulous event begins at 6 PM with Fireworks starting at 9:30 PM. Additional details are at https://www.phoenix.gov/parkssite/Pages/parksfabphx4.aspx
AT the Goodyear Ball Park there is the Star Spangled Fourth going on from 6 pm to 10 PM. They have a cookout, live music and yes children there are inflatables, live music and a Nathan's hot dog eating contest. Great price as parking and admission is free. But for all you VIP's out there, there does not appear to be and place for VIP's at their event. http://www.goodyearbp.com/events/star-spangled-4th
Fourth at the Fountain is where else? Fountain Hills. the event starts at 6 PM at the Fountain Park. Bring your chairs and blankets and enjoy the fireworks at 9 PM. Good pricing here as well as it is all free. Food, fun and folks all here for the event. http://www.experiencefountainhills.org/p/events/fourth-at-the-fountain
Surprise! Sorry about the pun. But they are having their celebration at the Surprise Stadium where there is a rookie league came. Admission is a canned food donation and limited to 10,000 fans. Fireworks will start around 8:30 PM. https://www.surpriseaz.gov/491/Special-Events
Chase Stadium is hosting the Diamondbacks and Padres at 6:40 PM. The first 20,000 people will receive a commemorative T-shirt and there will be fireworks after the game.
Have fun at America's 241st Birthday Party, whether you are in a beer garden, food truck or enjoying some of those inflatables that are everywhere. This is still one of the best countries on Earth. We are most blessed to be here and the freedoms that we have.
